Japan Earthquake. A Different View

As you all might know, yesterday, a magnitude of 8.9 offshore quake struck at noon and triggered a massive 7 meter tsunami that hit northeast coast of Japan. The quake shook dozens of cities and villages within the radius of 2,100 kilometers, even the tall buildings in Tokyo swayed.

As a Christian it is right for us to pray to God. Pray to repent and ask for God's help. Pray to understand and be inline with God's will. Pray to invite God to do His will through us. Ultimately to have faith in God and in what we prayed.

There are a lot of people in social network sites that asks people to pray, for the victim of Japan, for the country, for everything... which is a great thing.

But suddenly this morning I saw a post, its a prayer that looks something like "Satan, you may disturb Japan by causing earthquake. But you can't lay your dirty hand at my hometown because The Guy whom Jesus Loved are there.... flee to hell Satan, in the name of Jesus!"

It got me thinking, and this might be controversial, but is this earthquake really Satan's work? Aren't there Christians in Japan too? Don't Jesus love people in Japan too?

Yes this is the strongest quake that Japan has even seen for the late 1800's, but now I challenge you guys not think that this earthquake Satan's work, but it is God's will.

Before you guys starting to make any assumption to rebuke my statement, please give me a chance to explain why do I say this? After I saw the picture of during and the aftermaths of the tsunami, it is very sad and depressing, but earthquake is actually quite common in Japan

We will never truly understand God's divine plan, and why all these catastrophe happen. But we should pray and have faith that, whatever happen in Japan or at anywhere in the world, God have His reason and it is His will that it happened. And pray may the His will be done.
We should pray that the faith of the Christians in Japan will not crumble in this incident, but make them stronger in faith and believe in God and seek God for guidance.
We should pray that after this incident even more people will turn to Jesus.

We should believe that God's plan is great and after this incident good things will arise. Continue to pray brothers and sisters, pray that helps will come to Japan, pray that God's will, will be done

God bless everyone, continue to have faith in God

Love,
Lionel

If the Japan earthquake was God's will, then he is an evil monster. What kind of "plan" could possibly justify killing thousands of innocents? If it was not his will, then he is not omnipotent and he is helpless to intervene on Earth. In either case, why would you have faith in an entity that either can't or won't help you?

What we are seeing is indistinguishable from a world with no god. Stuff happens and we humans have to cope as best we can.

For me, a "divine plan" of a mass murderer doesn't seem to be something worth to have faith in. But faith is blind indeed and it's really interesting how creative Christians can be to find excuses why their "God" isn't as good or omnipotent as they wish him to be.

God, The Creator of Earth and Heaven and all creatures, HE IS “HE”. Believe it or not He is Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscience. This is not a God of Christians; instead He is God of all, and A beloved of those who are willing to change from their sinful life back to His righteousness.

There are situation that should not be strange to us as human beings. We should be aware that if a person is living time will come for him to die- being Christian or not. The issue should not be that innocent Japanese died after earthquake because there is a weak god that could not rescue them. Instead think and seek to know how many has met the condition in this scripture: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 How many have eternal life, since there is no second chance for the dead to believe in God, in Christ Jesus. Moreover for my reader, you should ask yourself if I dye now am I fulfilling requirements to be rewarded with internal life.

It is time to align our lives to God’s principles through repentance and turn aware from evil. Let’s make a covenant with God who is able to protect us, and if He chooses not to deliver us from bad circumstances like earthquake and other catastrophes He will give us eternal life. Jesus Christ is welcoming us to where He is:
1. to forgive us from our sins
2. to cleanse us from our iniquity through His BLOOD
3. to justify us before His Father
4. to unit us with His Father
5. to teach us to walk His way

Beloved, What God can do, no man can. Human Technology would save people, but it has always been failing them. It is unfortunate that Japanese has been affected by this earthquake, but let’s be careful! If this is God is doing and you allow yourself to be angry, “Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” James 1:19-20

Let’s seek to be acceptable in the face of God and His Christ Jesus.

So what you're basically saying is, that the people in Japan should be happy because your god gave them eternal life? but you know that most of the Japanese aren't christians? or doesn't it matter? if it does, your god is a racist mass murderer because he did not gave them eternal life (but there are other gods, so what), if it doesn't, so, what's the point in being christian anyway? Skip the preaching and praying part and you'll maybe see the rest when you die.

I really have to intervene. God doesn't create this silly nuclear incident to force the Japanese to convert. Or he couldn't have done this, if he were real, living, alive, and benevolent.

Seriously, there are Muslims dying from deiseases in Africa every day. Should we be thinking that God hates Muslims? That is strange because they worship God too. What about Japanese Buddhists? Hey they are peace-loving people. If God did this to show his power to non-believers, then maybe there aint a God at all, just a malicious Satan at play!

Ah the bickering - I'm a pro-God supporter too for starters. Nobody could possibly see any good coming out of the disaster in Japan.

Do any single one of us here can say we know everything (putting religion aside)? The very clear answer is no. The scientists could not predict the quake of such magnitude in time that a sufficient warning could be made to avert casualties. Japan has braced itself for years to sustain such catastrophes, yet they failed when time came.

I am a believer of the faith, yet I admit I do not know everything about the world, much less about spiritual matters. For us to bicker about what God does or does not, is really beyond our hands. So before coming to any conclusions, I do not know whether God intended it to be, neither do I know if Satan had a hand in it. What I do know is that God certainly allowed it to happen, and Satan would certainly be more than happy to see it happen. Why? Unless you are of the divine, then answer.

One thing though, is that through the time I have spent seeking Him, He has always provided an answer in due time - as we mature in understanding to be able to comprehend the motives behind His actions, or His inaction. But once again as a reminder, who are we to decide what is an action of God and what is not when we know nuts?

What we can do however, is to take the disaster as it is, and at the end of the day, it is we who live on Earth and not God or even Satan (technically). Out of every disaster we see change, and a painful realization of reality, that nothing considered safe can actually be safe after all. This has nothing to do with God flexing His muscles. We all know we'd be history if He really wanted to do so. If we could destroy the whole Earth with our own hands, what more of something divine?

Thanks to Japan being the sacrifice, nuclear power is under consideration once again over the world. China is falling under deep scrutiny for their massive plans for nuclear power - which none of us would find comfortable with. The tsunami shows how Japan can be proud of their people and culture in the wake of disaster.

What you are all bashing at is an age-old question that an all loving God would not allow any deaths. We die either way for God's sake. God will not answer that question simply because He does not need to. As Jesus said, "The only sign I will show you is the sign of Jonah", which has already occurred two millenniums ago and nothing else.

How I would attribute to these questions is simply - do you know the rules to the game of life? I don't, and I doubt you would either. If one decided not to stay near the coast, they would be safe from this disaster. Couple this law with millions of others and there you have the rules to life. If one stands in the way of a train, obviously he/she would be crushed. Whether or not it is ethical, right or wrong or whether he or she knew is of no consequence.

God created Earth under the laws of Science and Physics and will abide by that unless He chooses to - which apparently He has not and chose to play by the rules He set for Earth. Why? So that Satan can't say nothing about God playing 'cheat', but hell He would when the contract for Earth comes to an end.

The conclusion - God won't save you from your own stupidity, ignorance or lack of knowledge, or just sheer bad luck (though bad luck is equal to one of the formerly mentioned). Not everybody who died was bad, stupid, or such. Some simply did not know and fell into the way of the disaster. Is that God's problem to avert an impeding tsunami to save one ignorant believer as a result of human development destroying the balance of nature? Honestly I would think so, but the truth is, that's God's idea, not mine - so whatever I say merely remains an opinion.

If everything is God's will then evil and sin are also God's will. If everything is God's will then whatever anyone and everyone does is automatically God's will.
