If Christians..

Gandhi: “If Christians would really live according to the teachings of Christ, as found in the Bible, all of India would be Christian today.”

Gandhi : "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."

Makes you think... if every Christians would live according to the teaching of Christ, not just India, the whole would be Christian today.

It is true that the only real argument against Christianity is its Christians. But we must realize the church is a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints. (so go to church with a open heart and mind, to be healed and saved, to seek the truth among all the lies; instead of as a tourist, sight seeing, and gaining only memories during their 'tour' )

Ghandi took some of Christ's principles and applied them in his own life. He used peace instead of violence to stop a war and to regain independence for his people. He was quite a remarkable man. (If we took more of Christ's principles and applied them in our lives.. We would be an amazing and blessed men! We will be pleasing in God's view)

So spend some time to reflect on ourselves, as a Christian. Have we done our best to be one, of have we done anything at all? If you don't know,
then pray to God for guidance :)

The second week is starting soon, may God bless you all :)

Ecclesiasticus: Betraying Secrets

Sirach 27:16 ~ 27:21

If you repeat secrets that have been told to you, you are destroying the confidence others have in you, and you will never have a close friend. Respect your friends, and keep faith with them. If you do betray a friend's confidence, you may as well forget you have a friend. You have killed that friendship just as sure as if you had taken a weapon and killed an enemy. Your friend is gone. You can no more get him back than you can get a bird to come back to your hand once you let it go. Don't bother going after him. It's too late. He is gone, like a deer escaped from a trap. Wounds can be bandaged and insults can be forgiven, but if you betray a confidence, it is hopeless.

What more needed to say? Trust and respect is a foundation for a good friendship. So don't destroy the faith that you friends have in you.

If you have the ability to be a good listener, you are blessed. But if you can listen and keep it from others except to pray to God, then you are even more blessed!

So next time when you hear a secret or being told a secret, let it die with you, if but you feel that you can't to yourself, tell it to God, because He is the greatest/burden bearer/ non bias -listener in the whole universe! Amen!

May God bless you all in this new year and new semester :)

Fear, Love, Faith, Loyal

Fearing the Lord is the first step toward loving Him, and faith is the first step toward loyalty to Him.

The relationship between us and God is very different yet amazing.

To love God, we have to fear Him, and obey his commands, and make His teachings our wisdom. Having faith in the Lord, means that we will stay loyal to Him, and believe in Him in every step of our way, no matter how hard or impossible the road seemed to be, because it will lead to the world full of life and blessings.

So try to keep these in mind, and pray that you will have the strength to have faith and stay loyal to God, and may he bless us with unending flows of wisdom.

May God bless you all

Ecclesiasticus: Introduction

SIRACH
THE WISDOM OF JESUS, SON OF SIRACH
(Ecclesiasticus)

INTRODUCTION

The Wisdom of Jesus, Son of Sirach, also known as Ecclesiasticus, was written in Hebrew by a man named Joshua (or Jesus) and was later translated into Greek by his grandson. The book includes traditional Jewish wisdom material and makes a defense of Judaism by showing that God has given true wisdom to his people. Many subject of a religious, moral, and practical nature are presented, sometimes at length and sometimes in short proverbial sayings.

Some may not find this book in their Bible, this is because in the year 1800 the people who were publishing the KJV decided to remove it and several other books of the Bible. All the versions of the KJV from 1611 to the year 1800 contained it and the other books.

The book of Sirach, which I have read, is an absolutely wonderful addition to the Bible. In the days of the early church, it was often called the "teaching" book because it contained so much wisdom for new Christians. Several New Testament authors quote from it in their writings. It's a shame that so many Christians don't get the full story.

New Year

Another year have passed, a new year has begun.

ICCF wishes you all a Happy New Year.

Although many things have changed, and things may turn for better or for worse, but hope you all have a great semester ahead. May all of you will be blessed abundantly with God's wisdoms and graces.

And don't forget to give thanks and say prayers to our God most High too ^^
Thanks Him for the works, educations, roofs on our head, safety on the road when we are travelling and it all that we need.

Don't forget to seek forgiveness from God for the things we have done, for the things we should have done, and the things that we have failed to do.

Remember,
God is good all the time,
All the time God is good!

May God bless you all :)

Would you?

Recently I stumble upon across a blog. It is own by Mr Bob Rice, a professor of Catechism. While reading through his archive I found a post which writes:

I wish Catholics would:

-Drop everything and pray five times a day like Muslims
-Know their faith like Mormons
-Love the Bible like Protestants
-Have the evangelistic zeal of Jehovah’s Witnesses
-Think of themselves as “God’s People” like the Jews
-Love the Eucharist like we should

Wouldn’t that be somethin’?

I know this post was for Catholic, but it can be apply to all Christians.
And it made me realize.. Have we really been trying to get close with God?

  • Sure we pray.. But have we really made prayers part of our life?
  • Sure we have faith... But have we truly believe that God is with us in every situation?
  • Sure we read the bible... But have we really read it because we have a passion for the word or we read just out of necessity?
  • Sure we talk about God.. But do we have the courage to stand in our believe, the truth, even though the world will hate us?
  • Sure we know we are Christians... But have we really lead a Christian life?
  • Sure we receive the Eucharist... But have we truly believe that it is the body and blood of Christ our Saviour?
As a Christian we should go back to define us, which is LOVE, and try to see things differently.

We may be bias about other religions, we may even make fun of other religions, but don't deny that we can learn many things from them.

We may not have the courage to evangelize, but at lease we can try our best to lead a Christian life. Be nice to everyone, try to reach out when help is needed, try our best do complete the tasks that has been given to us, saying prayers, have faith in God in whatever we do... You will never know, but believe me all the little things that you do may touch someone's heart.

So, try to think back.. are you a Christian by faith or are you a Christian by name?
If so, what can you do to improve yourself?
If you don't know how.. well you can start by praying to God... I'm sure He will give you an answer.. But then again you may already knew it :)

May God Bless you all

Lionel
