La Sagrada Familia

Hello everyone, I was browsing through one of my friend's blog and found some photo of a landmark in Barcelona. So, after few research, and some awe here and there, today I would like to share to you all some pictures of a church:

Vuala,
La Srada Familia

I really love this picture

Simply stunning architecture

This was an exhibition to show how the builder was inspired by random objects in his surroundings and how he implemented them into his designs

Look how detailed the building is. Imagine the effort they put to create this masterpiece.

La Sagrada Família is a work on a grand scale which was begun on 19 March 1882 from a project by the diocesan architect Francisco de Paula del Villar (1828-1901). At the end of 1883 Gaudí was commissioned to carry on the works, a task which he did not abandon until his death in 1926. Since then different architects have continued the work after his original idea.

I really love this church because of its inspiring designs. It really speaks directly to the senses.

What I want to send out as a message is that we should appreciate art. I'm an art lover, and I believe that 'The highest purpose of all art is to teach and enforce true religion'. All fine art from painting to poetry fulfills its most noble mission when it breathes the spirit of religion and administer pure pleasure and solid comfort to man's heart. everything best and most worthy in the whole realm of art works has sprung from moral or religious inspiration.

We find ourselves in the 21st Century, where printing technology surrounds us on every side. Books and magazines carry countless images to overwhelm our minds. The internet makes the good and the bad of our society ever present.

As the inheritors of this age of technology, how do we carefully sift through all these images that are thrust at us? We are indeed fortunate to live in an era when all of the religious art of millenia is available to us. Although you may not know how to create art, yet you can still appreciate it, try to more keen with our surroundings, as everything we see in our everyday life is a masterpiece created by God!

Try to notice things around you, maybe a few drops of leftover milo in your cup, or some cloud formations, or even just by looking up when you walk around the college compound. You will be amazed what new things you might discover, even though you know you walk that place everyday!

May God bless you all, and try to appreciate the finer things in life today^^

Love,
Lionel
